NDI Marks 1.2 Million Hardware Nodes

NDI — One ecosystem, connected by 1.2 million nodes
London, UK
August 25, 2026
Milestone spans products from more than 200 hardware brands as NDI brings together more than 90 ecosystem partners

LONDON (August 4, 2026) – NDI,the global standard for plug-and-play IP video connectivity, today announced that its ecosystem has surpassed 1.2 million NDI-enabled hardware nodes worldwide, representing physical devices such as cameras, converters, production systems and displays that can connect and communicate using NDI. The company will celebrate the milestone at IBC2026 (Sept. 11-14, RAI Amsterdam), where it will display its largest partner and product showcase to date.

The 1.2 million hardware nodes span products from more than 200 supporting hardware brands and reflect the real-world environments in which NDI is used, from broadcast and live production to Pro AV, enterprise, education, live events and creator workflows. The milestone covers hardware nodes only, with NDI’s growing base of software-enabled endpoints extending the ecosystem’s reach even further.

“Behind every one of these 1.2 million nodes is a product, a team and a story being told,” said Miguel Coutinho, head of NDI. “This milestone belongs to the entire NDI ecosystem: the manufacturers, developers, partners and creators who have made NDI the connective layer for modern video.”

One Ecosystem, 1.2 Million Nodes

Under the campaign banner “One Ecosystem, connected by 1.2 million hardware nodes,” NDI is inviting its global community of installers, developers, broadcasters, AV professionals and creators to mark the milestone as a shared achievement. The campaign’s community message, “I’m a node,” recognizes the people and partners behind the technology, each playing a role in building one of the most connected IP video ecosystems in the world. Partners in the NDI Connected Community can use the #ImANode on LinkedIn to share their stories about how NDI has helped them connect and create.

NDI’s Largest Showcase at IBC2026

At IBC2026, more than 90 partners are expected to showcase NDI based products, reflecting an 18.6% year-over-year increase in NDI licensees attending IBC and a more than 100% year-over-year increase in certified partners on site.

Live demonstrations at the booth located in Hall 10 — 10.A41 will include:

  • Enhanced SpeedHQ performance for critical live-production workflows
  • New recording and playback capabilities
  • Centralized NDI Node Management for visibility and control across large IP environments
  • NDI Certification, HEVC 4:4:4 and control-and-monitoring over NDI
Built for Tier-1 Broadcast, Designed for What’s Next

With more than 1.2 million hardware nodes and a rapidly growing base of software nodes, the milestone underscores NDI’s role as infrastructure for modern production. Organizations including CNBC, the NHL, Sky, BBC and Chess.com rely on NDI to connect cameras, applications, devices, AI tools and production teams across scalable IP environments. This gives production teams the flexibility to choose the right tools for productions of different sizes and budgets without being locked into proprietary, single-vendor infrastructure.

As AI becomes a bigger part of production workflows, NDI is positioning itself as the transportation layer connecting video, audio, metadata and control across AI-powered, future-ready AV experiences with an accessible SDK and public documentation intended to make it easier for developers and AI agents to build on the platform.
